May 1st and we just unloaded the wood kiln for the 1st time this year.  We also down fired the kiln after we flattened all the 11 's    Grad student Garick Tai-lee has been doing this with his firings at IUP . I equate it with walking a horse after it has been in a fast race. I liked it and I think it was good for the pots and kiln.. I had a couple of other 1st . I made some Terra Sig and tried that as well as some new forms.  I have tried to upload some pictures but the program  keeps shutting down. will send this and try again later.

First salt fire,  was not as reduced as I would have liked but I did get a  few good pieces . A pair of salt and pepper shakers and a refire. Show at the Hospital this week too.  A good way to start the season.  I am selling a french triple milled soap  to go along with soap dishes that I am making and using as glaze tests.
